Here’s how to connect DHL Express to WowShipping.
Step 1: Choose DHL Express as Your Carrier

To get started, follow these steps to select your carrier:
- Create a new Shipping Method, or open an existing one you want to configure
- Set Carrier Live Rates as the shipping rate calculation method
- Select DHL Express from the list of available carriers
Once selected, the DHL Express account configuration options will appear below.
Step 2: Connect Your DHL Express Account
After selecting DHL Express as your carrier, authenticate your account by following these steps:
- Scroll to the DHL Express Account section
- Click the Connect Account button
- A modal titled Manage DHL Express Account will appear
- Enter your Client ID and Client Secret in the provided fields
- Click Save to complete the connection
Note: You’ll need to contact DHL Express to obtain your Client ID and Client Secret. These credentials are usually available in your DHL Express dashboard under Settings → API Credentials.

Once connected successfully, you’ll see the confirmation message: “Account connected successfully!”
Step 3: Configure DHL Express Shipping Options
After connecting your DHL Express account, set up the shipping method details below.
1. Select a Mode
Choose whether you want to use Sandbox or Live mode.
Use Sandbox while testing DHL Express rates and configuration. When you are ready to show real DHL Express rates at checkout and create actual shipments, switch the mode to Live.
2. Select Product
Click the product dropdown and select the DHL Express service you want to offer. The selected product determines the delivery speed, service level, and rate calculation for the shipment.
Available DHL Express products include Domestic Express, Domestic Express 9:00, Domestic Express 10:30, Domestic Express 12:00, Domestic Economy Select, Economy Select, Sprintline, Express Easy, Same Day, Europack, and B2C.
3. Insurance (Optional)
If you want to insure the shipment, enter an Insurance Amount. This value will be sent to DHL Express and applied to the shipment for coverage. If insurance is not required, you can leave this field empty.
Here’s a quick table to make things easier to understand
| Setting | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Mode | Choose Sandbox for testing or Live to show real DHL Express rates and create shipments |
| Select Product | Pick a DHL Express product such as Domestic Express, Economy Select, Same Day, or Express Easy |
| Insurance | Enter an Insurance Amount if you want to insure the shipment (optional) |
